FINALLY! WE WON. IN FREAKING REGULATION. A COME-FROM-BEHIND WIN IN REGULATION.
Enough said.
Though really, I have nothing much to say since I could only catch just the last half or so of the third period (I hate school :D).
Goals by Daniel Sedin and Alex Burrows. :)
Roberto Luongo made some pretty monster saves at the dying minutes.
Mattias Ohlund made the more monstrous save with his skate in the dying seconds of the third period, stripping Ilya Kovalchuk of the puck.
Kovie had such a nice reaction to that, too. XD As soon as he saw the camera, he swiped his stick towards it and was like "FUCK!"
I still love you Kovie! <3!
I don't know how well Nazzy played in the evening, but it was so refreshing to see him battle with 2 defencemen in front of the net. He got pushed down a lot, but got back up, looked for the puck and kept battling for position.
We got to the game just in time for the opening/introduction show. Loved the intro video where they were showing the Canucks roster and their respective names/nicknames. The anthem singer was pretty cool, too. It gave me th chills to be singing along with the crowd. Very powerful stuff.
As for the game...... Canucks started out great, all energized and created scoring chances at the get-go. Tonight, we see a new look line up combinations which puts Naslund with 2 Manitoba Moose callups: Brad Moran and Brandon Reid. People where skeptical as to how this line will go, most believing this is a demotion for Naslund, but I think they proved that wrong.
As soon as their first shift started, it almost seemed like these 3 had been playing for a long time as it is clear they have some sort of good chemistry between them. They created a lot of chances, was strong on the puck... they did the right things in that first shift and till their last.
I'm not saying we've found perfect linemates for Nazzy, but they were good this game and I hope they continue to be this good and end up producing soon.
Brandon Reid is shit fast, too. It's unbelievable. I swear, you look and you see him in the Canucks' blueline, then you blink and he's already in the offensive zone wtih the puck! As long as he can put the puck in as well, I would have no problem with him being with Naslund.
Brad Moran had a strong game, too. Got his first assist/point as a Canuck by assisting on Naslund powerplay goal.
As for the others.....
- Trevor Linden assisted on both of Brendan Morrison's goals tonight, but still weak on the powerplay. The Linden-Morrison-Cooke line should stay as one line since they seem to look better than the Naslund-Morrison-Cooke line.
- Roberto Luongo needs to work on keeping his 5-hole tightly shut.
- Ilya Kovalchuk scored!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Pyatt-Sedin-Sedin line hasn't scored as much as they want to in the past 2 games, but it's good to see there are other lines contributing other than that line.
- Fin is cute, he came near our section to thumb his drums and show off his blowhole.
- Food in GM Place is such a rip. ugh.
Okay, I'm sleepy. I wanted to post more about it, buuuuuuut.yeah. Sleepy. Eyes drooping already.
ANYWAY! Going to take my mom and my brother with me since my mom is a big Canucks fan, but she hasn't seen a hockey game live... EVER. So, I guess it's a belated birthday present (although I already bought her dinner for her birthday). :DDDDD
