Don't have a lot of comments from tonights game, mostly cause I couldn't catch it on TV, except for the 3rd period. I had to pick up my dad from the airport so I was just listening to it on the radio, and can't really comment on the plays except for the ones I saw on highlights.
Anyway, it seemed like it's back to the same old fairy tale for the Canucks, at least for this game. Outwork the other team for most of the game and still lose. Just when we thought the scoring woes of the team are over, the epidemic has again invaded Vancouver's lineup.
I don't know how good Boston was on the first period, but all I know is that they were able to capitalize on the powerplays we had to take the lead 2-0. Apparently, the 5-on-3 late on the 1st period was a questionable penalty for the Canucks, I haven't seen the replays for that yet, but I guess that call on Bulis for hooking, and Linden for a game misconduct (after trying to argue the penalty for Bulis) was really bad that Vigneault was angry at the refs, subtly taking shots at them on the post-game interview.
Watch it AV. Don't want the league fining you and Linden $$$$$$$$ for hurting the poor refs feelings. :D
Apparently, we also had "2 goals" throughout the game (which would have tied it), but both were disallowed. I only saw the Naslund one at the last second of the game, but it was waived off cause Bruins had a penalty, etc and they touched the puck, etc. I think they were arguing that in the rules it must be clear that the penalized team has control of the puck when they touched it for the ref to blow the whistle. *shrugs*
I can't even count anymore how many goals has been waived off against the Canucks. :P It's almost expected, especially when it's Alex Burrows who's scoring. If he starts celebrating a goal, I just know it's going to be waved off. HAHA.
Yes. I find it hilarious. I think I learnt how to stop complaining.
But we shouldn't depend on the refs to decide a game for us. We had a lot of chances. We didn't bury any of it.
I feel bad for Sabourin. He actually played well tonight, just those 2 powerplays murdered us. I want him to get a win soon. Then again, Boston didn't give him any work in the 3rd period anyway, so he had it easy... 0 shots in the 3rd period. Canucks had like 2837482374823 shots. None went in the net.
Next game is against Columbus Blue Jackets. Hot team lately, but another must win.
