Although the score may suggest otherwise, I thought the Canucks played a pretty exciting game with their 1-0, division clinching win.
The first period was all about the Canucks getting a lot of scoring chances, but Budaj just won't die and let the puck in. And it's not just one line contributing pressure, all 4 lines were rolling and getting the puck to the net.
They did calm down in the second period. The Avs applied a lot of pressure initially, but the defense pulled through and got us to the 3rd period where the fire was lit again and the scoring chances came back in full force. However, Budaj remained steady throughout the 3rd period, and stoned the Canucks each time.
When he wasn't stoning the Canucks, the puck just decides to stay out of the net by hitting the post, a player or something.
All that did not matter though because the Canucks got to OT and secured the division and we win anyway! :D Henrik Sedin must have scored the most hilarious goal for that GWG if you consider the type of game we had.
All those beautiful chances, and the goal that won it was a deflection off a Colorado player. LOL
The beauty in this game, to me, is just the balanced play of all the lines. Okay, not balanced, since it was obviously the Sedin line who did a lot of the dangerous scoring chances, but the other lines were not big liabilities.
Sure, there were a couple of times when they couldn't clear the puck out of the zone, or iced it, etc, but ... I thought they all looked solid. They can sustain pressure on the forecheck and was very systematic on the defense.
I am especially impressed with the 3rd line of Wellwood/Raymond/Bernier. Especially Raymond. I think you can see the change in Mason Raymond compared to his play earlier in the season.
He makes a lot more plays and seems to be using his line mates a lot more than he used to. Also, doesn't it seem like he's stronger on the puck recently? I don't know.. I see him forcing his way into the offensive zone better, and winning a lot more puck battles.
Ryan Johnson has also been excellent lately. I think his finger has probably now fully healed.
I feel bad that Shane O'Brien didn't get a regular season goal as a Canuck. Maybe he can get his first goal as a Canuck in the playoffs. :D Wouldn't that be something? C'mon OB, you know you have it in you!
Anyway. I'm just SO happy that it's done. It's time to just worry about the post season and hope we kick CBJ/STL bum.
Hello folks! It has been a while since I posted, but I have just been so busy with the 5 courses I'm taking this semester that I haven't had time to post. Surprisingly, I can find time to watch games, but I just get so tired to post about it afterwards.
I'm tired now, too, but this game was just too awesome that I can't pass up posting about it.
I didn't catch the first 5 or so minutes, but I did get in just in time for Rick "the Rypper" Rypien's 3rd goal of the season. First of, welcome back Ryp and congratulations on getting your first goal back as a Canuck.
First of all, I have to point out the obvious: Roberto Luongo was FREAKING AMAZING this game. As in wow. His rebound control was just... airtight. In fact, he barely let out any rebounds since he holds on to the puck or just steers it so far away that he has time to react when a shot comes in from that rebound. If not, there is usually a forward out to clear it... or a Calgary player ready to shoot it wide. *SNERK*
A lot of his saves were just WOW-inducing and just.. unbelievable. He's been pretty inconsistent since his return from injury, but I hope this is the beginning of his consistency. All the other teams would be in a world of pain if he keeps this up in the long run.
Also, Willie Mitchell? You're a freaking beast. There's a reason why this guy is my favorite player. I was so worried about him after he got hit by the puck. Man that looked painful, but he stayed in, toughed it out, went to the dressing room and came back out. Then he was high sticked by Bert afterwards.
But anyway, this is not the point. The Flames pretty much dominated the Canucks, at least in terms of shots on goal (46?), but, in general, I didn't think the Canucks were that sloppy? Maybe it is just me, or maybe it was just Luongo making the team in front of him look better than usual, but I was quite pleased with the play of the forwards.
I didn't think the 3rd and 4th lines were that bad tonight, especially the 4th line with Rypien and Hordichuk. Loved when Rypien hit some Flamer, then Hordi followed it up with a hit on his own on another Flamer. And oh yeah. RYPIEN SCORED. Did I say that already? It feels like I have.
it's like deja vu that I'm experiencing right now.
Nevertheless, Ryp really has Kipper's number.
Anyway, other goal scorers were Mattias Ohlund with 2 goals, and Henrik Sedin.

Why is it that it's been Hank that's been scoring all the goals lately? Have the twins decided to switch up their jersey recently so Hank can look more wholesome, other than being viewed as the Twin that always passes?
It was a nice goal, by him, too.
Other than scoring... THE PENALTY KILL. They did an awesome job. Ryan Johnson has really improved in the PK. I loved all the times he pushed his puck to go over the line by force. I love his faceoff wins. Then other than him, the whole PK crew was jus fantastic. Definitely a collective effort, and it all starts with Lui.
Anyway...
Oh yeah. SHANE O'BRIEN. Did anyone else laugh out loud when he was leading the rush, and was found deep in the offensive zone? I love it. LOL. XD
I can't believe the playoffs are coming. Oh. My. God.
Trevor Linden Jersey Retirement + Oilers 2 - Canucks 4
Okay, I admit, I teared up a bit. Who wouldn't? I wasn't that emotionally attached to the ceremony itself since I don't feel I have the ties to Trevor Linden the way most Canucks fans do, seeing as I was never here for his glorious years, but the part of his speech that was directed towards the fans really pulled at my heart strings.
:D My favorite part though? "Willie Mitchell. I finally met someone who loves talking as much as I do." Everyone in the team including Willie: LOL!!!
As for the game itself, I don't really remember much of it... I was watching the whole thing at Earl's and is meeting my friend's boyfriend for the first time so my attention was split. The few things I can remember though were Bieksa's double-awesome hit on Gagner and Moreau and Hansen on Souray? hahaha.
The bad news though was the hit on Salo, which puts him out for a month with a broken rib injury, and SOB is day-to-day after that hit from Stortini.
Canucks Sign MATS FREAKING SUNDIIINNNZZZZZZZZ
I know, late reaction, but I haven't really spent a lot of time on computer to actually be able to put together a blog post about this. I do know that once I received the text alert from TSN (which I didn't read till an hour after TSN sent it since I was walking around doing things...), I was in shock...
1) The saga is finally over.
2) OMG HE PICKED THE CANUCKS
3) OMG. He picked the Canucks.........

5) HOLY SHIT
6) ... you get the idea.
This can only be good for the team, of course, we're adding a player without having to trade our prospects or players. The only fear is how conditioned he is after not playing for more than 6 months now. He was a PPG player last year, so just going by that, we know he can still score at this pace with his age, the question is just if he can do it after not playing for a while.
I like that he signed less than what he was offered, and that he only signed for a year. This gives us a chance to re-evaluate our current free agents and give them decent size contracts, if we plan to re-sign them, without a $10 million salary eating up the cap space. Also, by signing less, we still have enough space to add another top player in the deadline.
Exciting is what this is!
I will be going to the game against Philadelphia on the 30th and Stars on Jan 4, so I just hope he plays on either of those dates!!! XD!

Okay, not major news, but K Dub is definitely climbing up the charts of favorite player-ness. HE IS SO AWESOME. XD
During my photo of him I was doing "K" and "W" with my hands, and he noticed it, but thought I was doing the peace sign... so he went to do the peace sign, too, but realized "WHOOPS wrong sign!" XD My friend was laughing saying how awesome he is, and I'm like "Of course, it's K Dub!" and he's like "That's right!"
He was friendly with the fans, at least he was conversing with us, and sort of amused when my friends were saying out loud how they feel like they're paparazzi.
I was asking him to sign another friend's jersey with "Magic Mittens" on it, and he was telling me how he doesn't know why people have been asking him to sign with "Magic Mittens". (haha my coworker actually brought in oven mitts for him to sign.)
Anyway. So Blackhawks @ Canucks tonight.
Sadly, the parentals want to do more shopping and just told me to watch the PVR of the game. *CRY* I'll try to blast through my way home and mow down anyone who gets in my way!
So that's how it ended, a Avalance shootout win over the Canucks for a final score of 5-4.
I didn't get to watch the first period, but from what I saw in the 2nd and 3rd period, offensively, the Canucks were fantastic again. They were able to sustain pressure in the Avs zone to create scoring chances and also were able to capitalize on those chances 4 times.
Steve Bernier had a fantastic night for the Canucks after he scored his first goal in the PP and especially after he scored the Canucks 4th goal. It's amazing because you can tell the difference in the way he handled the puck from the onwards. I mean, DID YOU SEE HIS CHANCE IN THE OT THAT HIT THE POST?! That was a sick move he pulled against the Avs then. Sucked that it hit the post. I was just "Wow, that's Big Bear?!"
Darcy Hordichuk and Daniel Sedin scored the other goals for the Canucks. Couldn't see how the Hordi goal developed, but it was from a nice pass by Jason Jaffray. The Sedin goal was pure non-stop trying. He got a couple of chances the first time and the puck was cleared and held in by the Canucks, and he was able to whack it several times again and eventually put it in the net.
Defensively, I thought it looked a bit shaky after they gave up the first goal, but overall still... average.
SOB and Willie got beat in that first goal, and to put salt into the wounds, the puck was tipped by Willie's stick and into the net. Apparently SOB tipped in the 3rd goal, but I couldn't really see it soo I can't really say for sure. They were also having problems handling the puck, sometimes, to make the breakout pass and clear the zone.. you sometimes see them go around in circles around our own zone pass it back and forth, bobble the puck, circle again, wash and rinse, then repeat.
What was even worse, though, was the goals let in by Cory Schneider and I think those are the type of goals that a rookie goaltender have to get used to just to get the timing and positioning correct. Teh Schneids definitely didn't have much of a chance on the first goal since Willie put it in himself, but the 2nd and the 4th goals were definitely saveable.
Although he should have saved the 4th goal, I wouldn't put the blame on him entirely. The Canucks had a couple of chances to get the puck out on that play. Pavol Demitra had a chance to get the puck out in that play. They didn't and the Avs made us pay for our mistakes. Sad truth.
XD You'd probably be hardpressed to talk about whether the goals in the shootout were saveable considering Roberto Luongo has been previously beat by those exact same moves before, so it's harder to say whether Scheids should have had those or not. I thought he went down too quickly on the Hejduk goal, that beat him top shelf... Meh.
Cory has already said it himself that he obviously does not want to put the team through his growing pains, but it's a fact of life if you're a young goaltender. He will make those mistakes, the Canucks were able to score enough tonight and we were able to get at least a point. What they need to do is what they did in the Wild game. Hold off the Wild, don't make defensive mistakes. If he doesn't face a lot of shots, Schneids can make that save.
But anyway. Even after all those bad goals, is it bad that I still have more confidence in Cory that Sanford? LOL
Yeah, disappointing game. I just hope to see a better result against the Preds.
They win!
After that fight and penalty in the opening period, the Canucks took it to the Wild. First by scoring on their powerplay, second by outshooting the Wild and lastly, the Canucks 4th line outplaying their 4th line.
A lot of things went right for this team, though I'm sure Jason Jaffray would beg to differ since his fight with Brent Burns did not go as well as he probably planned.
Offensively, we kept putting on the pressure. There was some good forechecking, especially from the 4th line, and we pretty much kept the puck in their zone for long periods of time. The D helped a lot in that aspect since there were a lot of times when they held the puck in to sustain that pressure. If it wasn't for the good goaltending of Niklas Backstrom (flip side is if the Canucks had more finish :P), then we would have blown this game out.
We only had 1 full powerplay, and we scored on it, thank God. I was already getting anxious and ready to preach about "NHL SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO DECLINE PENALTIES LIKE THE NFL", luckily, Kevin Bieksa scored in the last few seconds. No matter, the Canucks still stunk it up in the PP in general.
Is it just me or we can never hold the puck in? I mean, I look at other team's PP and their point men seem to have the uncanny ability to hold every puck we try to clear. With the Canucks PP... it just doesn't happen. They should practice on that :P. Get someone to constantly ring it around the boards and someone rush to stop it?
Oh well.
As for the defense... Does the Wild have some vendetta against Willie tonight? First there was Burns who tried to kill him every single time he was on the ice, then Lemaire ices Boogaard to try to take his head off, too... Oh well. :P Willie wins this one with his pearly white teeth and perfect smile!

Honestly, the defense played more stable this game than the past 4 games we've lost. Crisp passes to clear the puck out, active sticks, knew when to block, cleared the crease crashers away from Schneider, followed their assignments... Yeah they were pretty good. They weren't running around like headless chickens this game, and as a result, they held the Wild to 17 shots.
Those 17 shots really helped Schneider on his way to his first NHL win.
Boy was he fantastic. Even though he did not face a lot of shots, the Wild had quite a few quality scoring chances, but he was ready and made the save on all of them. The only goal he let in was due to Ohlund knocking him over. Everything else he was ready for. He hasn't really looked shaky since his first NHL start. Now that the defense is playing how they should be playing, we won the game.
The game in general was fantastic. Lots of hits, quite a few scrums, and a few fights. All topped off by a Canucks win and the first NHL win for our young prospect? Yeah, it was perfect.
And right. Not a lot of lazy penalties, other than Pyatt's brainfart at the end of the game. What is more surprising is that SOB does not have a penalty or a fighting major in this emotional game? What up SOB? :P
Now, let's hope they continue playing like this against the Avs. They're pretty much the only NW team we haven't beaten this year and it sucks.
Well, it seems like only Cory Schneider and the defense showed up for the Canucks tonight? I mean, defensively, the forwards were great, but offensively, which is their number 1 job, they were horrendous.
What the heck happened to the Canucks that scored 3+ goals a game?!!! Come back Canucks!
Anyway, on paper, it looks as though Cory Schneider had a horrendous NHL debut, but it was really far from it. He was fantastic.
He was always in position, he was aggressive on the shooter and kept track of the puck very well. He didn't look shaky at all.
I think the defense helped him a lot, too. He gave away a few crucial rebounds which the D immediately gobbled up and put it out of harm's way. The Canucks forwards collapsed around the net to rally support Schneids in his first game.
Which leads us to what the problem was.
They were too focused to play a perfect game defensively that their offensive game disappeared. It wasn't until the 3rd period that they really started to put it on, but by then it was too late.
The powerplay was especially horrendous. X_X As I was saying in a previous tweet, there should be an option to decline penalties in the NHL just like they do in the NFL. :P It would work well with the Canucks.
They just get out-hustled in the PP. Sometimes it seems like they're playing 5 on 5 because the PKers of the other team can just easily keep them away from the puck and negate any scoring chance.
Blah.
I should just focus on praising Cory. And Willie. Willie was great. Willie is always great. I love when he and Phaneuf was jawing off at each other XD!!! That made me laugh so much... :P I kinda wanted Willie to punch Phaneuf's face in. There's seriously something wrong with it.. I can't describe it.
Speaking of other hilarious things... Jim and Craig were focusing on Kyle Wellwood and how he wins his faceoffs the entire game.
Basically, Welly wins his faceoff by sticking his right foot out with perfect timing to either block the other center's stick or to kick it away. He's been doing this for the Canucks all season, and I'm guessing he's been doing it with the Leafs as well, but the Flames are trying to find ways to beat Wellwood in the faceoffs. XD
Anyway, so beating Welly involves the Flames cheating as well, either by employing the same tactics as him by sticking their own foot out or by dropping their stick faster than he can kick it out.
The funny thing is, it backfired on them 2 times. XD I really laughed out loud when Craig Conroy tried the "stick-foot-out" move during the first PK, and got kicked out of the faceoff circle because it was so obvious that he is cheating, Wellwood eventually won that draw. They just don't have Wellwood's timing. I seriously LOLed when I saw Conroy stick his foot out XD my dad had to ask what I found so funny.
yeah. To summarize, I wasn't too pleased with the Canucks tonight. Just no effort from the forwards, but at least seeing Cory play great for his first start was very... reassuring. To some fans, it is an easy decision as to who they want to keep between Luongo and Schneider, but for me, I really don't know who I would like to keep. I'd like both if possible, but obviously you can't. Schneids is like... the first homegrown goaltender of the Canucks that is showing he has the skill, while Roberto Luongo is this all-world goaltender right now. AHH. I think I will have a bittersweet feeling to whatever course of action the Canucks will take.
For now, I am just pleased with what I saw in Cory tonight and I hope he starts again on Monday. :D
Wow. It's like the moment a lot of Canucks fans who moderately follow the propsects have all been waiting for: Cory Schneiders NHL debut.
Dubbed the best goaltender that is currently not playing in the NHL, I can't help but feel so excited and nervous at the same time.
He has been fantastic for pretty much his whole career that I have this high expectations of him. At the same time, I am trying to push down those high expectations because there is a big jump between college, AHL and then now the NHL and not a lot of players can make that jump instantaneously.
Nevertheless, it is a pretty exciting time for Schneids and the Canucks fans. He is playing against one of our divisional rivals, especially one where we really have a heated rivalry against.
Flamers will definitely not make it easy for him, and the Flames fans as well, I just hope his teammates make the transition as easy for him as possible.
GO SCHNEIDS GO!
Is it bad that I am not panicking over Roberto Luongo's injury? I mean, I am concerned, but I'm surprised with myself that I am not thinking "END OF THE WORLD" when Sanford had to relieve him, and even the prospect of the Sandman starting the games, obviously, while Lui is out did not cause me distress.
A lot of it has to do with the solid defensive play the team has been demonstrating in their recent string of wins, particularly the ones against the Wild and Penguins.
A lot of people has said that the Canucks can only go as far as Luongo can take them, and really, who will deny them? But with the change in dynamics of the team, you just see a lot more commitment from the team to just play better defensively, and combine it with smart plays offensively. They showed that they can rally around their backup and give him as less work as possible.
I think the balance between the defense and offense has been key. The defense has been given the green light to help around in offense, and this has benefited the Canucks, but the forwards has been diligent in covering for the D when they pinch.
The offense has also been doing better than average. There was a string of games wherein we couldn't score more than 1-2 goals again, but it has been back to 3-4 goals again since Demitra's return.
Speaking of Demitra? Amazing or what? He has scored so much points since his return, and has proved to be a capable linemate for Daniel and Henrik Sedin. That play between the Twins and Demo which lead to the eventual game-winner against Minnesota was fantastic. After nice passing from the Twins, Demo baited Backstrom out of his net before quickly throwing the puck to a waiting Danny. (PS: WTF happened to the Wild D there?!)
Another player I have been pleased with is Shane O'Brien. Well, he has been better than I expected since the trade. He had a rocky start, obviously, but that's just because he was suffering major jetlag and learning a new system. Ever since he has settled in, he has shown just how committed he is to the team. He'll give anyone shit if you mess with any Canuck. He knows his role on the team and plays it well.
Of course I want to see him cut down on minor penalties which is really my only problem with him. Defensively, he's been solid. I don't get scared as much when he's on the ice against another team's top player because he uses his size effectively against them.
Two more reasons why I am loving him?
He can DANGLEZ and FIGHT.
I was just laughing so hard during the Rangers game when Voros sort of fell over Roberto Luongo and SOB just laid on top of him for a long time and the refs eventually gave him 2 minor penalties... I can totally imagine what he is telling Voros, and everytime I do, I just burst out laughing. XD For a guy with a baby face, he is pretty scary. Haha.
Anyway, the two players I have been disappointed with is Sami Salo and Alex Edler.
Come one you two. You are in my top 5 favorite Canucks, and I have always been impressed with your defensive and offensive plays, but what is up with you two lately?!

His sophomore year reminds me of Kevin Bieksa's sophomore year last year. Like heart-attack inducing scary.
He does not get his point shots through at all... and what's worse is that it's usually getting blocked which causes an odd man rush the other way... he has made a lot of boneheaded plays, too, in his own zone. When I look at Edler right now, I just see him going on cruise control. It's like he is just coasting through.
He is supposed to be higher than O'Brien on the depth chart, but the way I see it, SOB has been much more impressive on both ends of the ice than Edler. I hate that since he has been fantastic the past couple of seasons.
As for Salo? Yeah. Just weak on the puck this year. He's getting pushed around so much and just generally looks weak. But it's Salo. I was at least counting on him for his booming shot, but that's been gone, too.
Anyway, in general, the Canucks has been playing well. The D who stepped up for the injured players, Nycholat and Davison has not been costly, the offense is back, and the team loves each other.
Who else loved the WOOOOOOOOOOOOs at the end of the Minny and Pens game?
OHHHHHHH Yeah.
First of all, what a game to go to for your first game of the season. I finally had a taste of what it's like to be in a Leafs game, and all I can say is that there is a lot of smack talking going on in the stands... and drunk Leafs fans.
By itself, it was an awesome game. Lots of goal scoring, 3 fights and the Canucks PK killing off a 2 minute long 5 on 3 in the first period. Not to mention a couple of bone-crushing hits from both sides and you're pretty much all set.
Goals?
HECK YEAH WILLIE MITCHELL! SCORED HIS FIRST OF THE SEASON AND I WAS THERE TO SEE IT, WEARING MY MITCHELL JERSEY.
You have no idea how much cheering I was doing after he scored that goal. Awesome pass by Burrows on that play. Awesome celebration by Willie.
Kyle Wellwood also stuck it to his old team by scoring the first goal of the game on Vancouver's first shot. Way to go.
The other goal scorers include Ryan Kesler, who scored on the 4 on 3, and Daniel Sedin.
From what I saw at the game, I thought it was pretty well played game for the Canucks, but there are a couple of plays that are a bit worrying.
One is Burrows' turnovers. There were a couple of times on the penalty kill and, maybe 5 on 5, in which he had the chance to clear the puck, but he opted with dangling around a couple of Leafs players which resulted in the puck staying in our zone much longer than necessary. Dude, get the puck out. Don't do too many moves on it unless you are in the offensive zone, in an offensive position.
The other is Sami Salo's play. Now, Salo is one of my favorite players, but I don't think he has been playing at the level we are used to see him play in the past. He is weak on the puck, both in the defensive zone and the offensive zone, gets easily pushed around by the D lately, and you're just noticing his mistakes more? In seasons past, Salo usually just quietly goes about doing his job and you'll only really notice him because of his canon of a shot, however, this season, I found that I am noticing him more for the wrong reasons.
And as for his shot... Salo, please shoot more? You promised, remember?
Anyway, as for GM Place itself... the atmosphere was awesome. The sad thing is, it sounded like there were just as many Leafs fans as there were Canucks fans, but honestly, there were a lot more Canucks fans who wasn't as loudly cheering for the team. I mean, if all the Canucks fans in the arena went on to chant "Go Canucks Go", I'm sure all the "Go Leafs Go" would have been drowned out.
The Leafs fan in front of me and I sort of had this weird thing going on in the game? Well weird for me because he kept looking over at me as I was just doing my normal heckling.
He seriously turned around and stared at me for a long time after the Leafs scored their 2nd goal... after a bit, I just said "THEY KICKED IT IN!"
Anyway... my throat is so sore. Remind me to get lemon drops before I go to a Canucks game. I forgot how crazy I get...

I meant to post about this yesterday (Friday), but I was too tired, then this morning I got too busy "studying" while playing LittleBigPlanet (awesome game, you guys) that I kept putting it off.
Anyway it was definitely a night of tricks and treats for the Canucks.
The good? They scored 6 goals again. 3 of which (I think) were on the powerplay.
The bad? They got scored on 6 times. And they had 23782374823 penalties.
I think the worst part of last night's game was the inability to hold on to that 5-2 lead in the 2nd period and the 6-5 in the 3rd. I know one of them was deflected in by Bernier so Luongo probably couldn't do much, but the defense and the goaltending could have probably been better for the Ducks' last goal and Selanne's 2nd goal of the night.
It's kind of weird that our supposed strength, defense and goaltending, has been our weakness for the first few games, while on the other hand, our weakness, offense, has been booming.
It's tough to see our defensemen losing puck battles, but at least they've been pretty good offensively? I mean, Willie has 5 points already! They have been getting their shots through the net, and if not, you'd usually find them hovering around in the deep end of the offensive zone. Yes, it's not only Bieksa who does this nowadays. For crying out loud, Willie does this.
But anyway, back to the game. So yes, it was a rollercoaster affair, down to the last shot in the shootout.
The game started our boring enough. No sustained pressure on both ends, it was like dump the puck, try to chase, then go back to neutral zone, rinse, repeat. the only time there was sustained pressure was when the Ducks got the first powerplay.
First our PK sucked, allowing 2 goals in 2 penalties, then it was great again, where Burrows scored a shorty, and then it sucked again as the Ducks tied the game 5-5.
Our PP rocked, except for the first one when Henrik took an interference penalty after the draw.
There was a fight between Parros and Hordichuk, and Parros got Hordi's jersey above his head, but Hordi eventually landed the knock out punch and also scores another point for the takedown. There was another one between Brown and some Ducks' dude. This one was even funnier. Brown was totally in his "boxer" mode, and the dude swung his fist, Brown ducked and slammed him down the ice. HAHAHA. XD Nice one Brownie!
The Canucks were able to regain their lead after Bernier scored to make it 6-5 in the powerplay, however, Perry (HATEHATEHATE) was able to sneak one by Luongo for the tie in the last few seconds of play.
Yah Canucks, clearing the puck really helps in this situations.
OT solved nothing, but Hansen appeared injured by the end of the game, so it was on to the shootout.
Kyle Wellwood scored a beauty in the shootut, but Ryan Getzlaf responded with a goal that is just as pretty. And the shooters kept coming, and the goalies kept saving.
Both goalies were pretty solid with their saves, but the Ducks admittedly had a lot of missed shots or shots that hit the post. Hiller, on the other hand, had to make some easy saves against the Canucks, especially the Sedins. Seriously. What kind of shot was that Daniel??!!! What was it supposed to do?!
Thankfully, Ohlund decided he has had enough of it and went in for the kill.
A nailbiting victory, but a victory nonetheless.
