Desert dogs feasts on the Orcas, 3-1
Well, this game definitely won't go down in the record books as the most exciting game of the year for the Canucks. They didn't really play much. The 4th line saw a lot of ice time, and the defencemen also shared equal minutes. Edler must have been shocked that he played 20 minutes for the first time in his NHL career.
Anyway, so yeah that was boring. They didn't really try a lot, except for the 4th line. Alex Burrows had the sweetest goal to tie the game 1-1 in the first period. He just backhanded it over Cujo and it went in. I swear, Burr has the prettiest goals, yet they're so rare!
Sucks that Sabby didn't get the win. I find it hilarious that for most of the game they weren't trying, until the end, Vigneault pulled Sabby to try and tie the game, sadly, it didn't work.
Jeremy Roenick scored on the empty net, and with an act of class, Wayne Gretzky called a timeout so the crowd can honor Roenick on what could be his last NHL game. He also pulled Curtis Joseph so the crowd could give him a standing ovation for a great career. At the end of the game, Roenick came over and shook hands with the Canucks coaching staff.
So yeah, that was that for the Canucks' last game of the season.
The last part of the New York Islanders vs New Jersey Devils game was 10003423 x better. :D HAH. Leafs are OUT.
